Homework AHHHHHHH!!!!!

My daughter who is in Kindergarten has homework. A packet of work is sent home on Fridays and is due back the following Thursday. My daughter hates doing homework. Just writing her name at the top of the page is an ordeal. She is in the beginning stages of learning the letters to her name. Too bad I gave her such a long name. Anyway anything involving writing always turns into a fight. Both my husband and I feel completely demoralized after a ten or fifteen minute session. The other night I tried doing a page of "s"' with my daughter. It was a complete disaster. I lost it. I got so mad/frustrated. Finally I came to the conclusion that she does not know how write an "s". That realization was so freeing. It is doubling frustrating for me as Education is my field and I feel like a double failure when I can't get my daughter to complete even the simplest of assignments. Tonight was no exception. She complained all the way to the table that she wanted to watch cartoons and then proceeded to dork around at the table causing her father to get mad. What's going to happen when the homework is actually challenging like Fractions(ahhh) or the dreaded trains leaving both coasts at different speeds.
I don't know what the lesson is for today. Maybe a school break is needed. My husband needs to take me on a vacation.

Well it's time for another exciting entry for TeamAwesometastic. It seems I forgot to include a lesson last week, just consider that Summer Vacation.

This weeks rant(I mean lesson) is about the Kids Clubs at DisneyWorld in Orlando Florida. I frequently visit Passporter Boards.com which is a forum for people who love Disney. It has a lot more rules than your typical boards as confrontation and argument are almost always avoided. This is why I am talking about this here and not there. Anywho, I love DisneyWorld. I went there on my honeymoon and plan to go back again if I can get my husband to agree. (something about money blah blah blah bills, I don't know) Many of the very nice people who visit and post at Passporter have sung the praises of these Kids clubs. They drop their kids off and go have fun at some of the adult only entertainment spots at WDW. This drives me insane. No kid wants to be left at a kids club while their parents go off and have fun without them. WDW is for kids. It's for adults who act like kids. If you don't want to be with your child than don't take them on vacation with you. As someone who has worked in childcare for 11 years I know that no matter how great your program is, kids are always glad to see their parents and would rather be with them than at some "fun kids club". If you have children, spend time with them!!! Don't hire a babysitter for your kid when you are on vacation!!(lord love a duck!)

That's all for now.
